Alexis Galarneau and Nick Horton Earn All-ACC Honors

NC State’s two All-ACC honorees played doubles together 21 times this season

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Alexis Galarneau (Second Team) and Nick Horton (Third Team) of the NC State men's tennis team have been named to the 2017 All-ACC Men's Tennis Team, the league office announced Thursday morning.
Just a freshman, Galarneau posted a 25-10 mark in singles play during the 2016-17 season and earned six wins over opponents ranked within the national top 110. He went 15-13 in doubles play and earned four victories over opponents ranked within the national top 70. He was named the ACC Player of the Week on February 7 while in the midst of a singles winning streak that would ultimately include six straight victories and 12 in 14 opportunities. Galarneau moved his way up to the No. 1 doubles spot in NC State's lineup in mid-February and remained there for the rest of the season.
Horton finished this season with a 19-16 singles record and a 14-12 mark in doubles action. He defeated five singles opponents ranked within the national top 107 and helped defeat two doubles opponents ranked within the national top 26. He was paired with teammate and fellow All-ACC honoree Galarneau on 21 occasions.
Horton ends his career having played at every singles and doubles position in the lineup. He posted 84 singles victories during his time at NC State (seventh in school history) and 64 doubles wins (tied for sixth in school history). He was a 2015 ITA Carolina Region doubles champion and finished his junior season (2015-16) ranked No. 64 nationally in singles.
