ATHENS, Ga.—The No. 30 NC State women's tennis team concluded its historic season Sunday afternoon after falling to No. 5 Georgia in the second round of the NCAA tournament at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. The Wolfpack was defeated by a 4-0 decision.
NC State wraps up the season with a 19-11 (7-7 ACC) record while Georgia will advance to the Sweet 16 with a record of 19-5 (11-2 SEC).

Simon Says
"First off, I want to thank the University of Georgia. They put on an incredible event," said head coach Simon Earnshaw. "Their facilities are an amazing part of college tennis, and I consider it to be the home of college tennis. I have to give credit to Jeff and his incredible program and their championship tradition.
"This has been a great experience for our girls, but we're not just coming here for the experience. We're here to be a part of the event in a positive manner and we're trying to push our way through. This is what it's about in our program and the culture that we're building.
"I don't take this loss lightly. I know we're getting there and I think we showed today that we can play with these teams. The girls should all take a lot of heart in that.
"We have a bitter taste heading into the off-season, other than Martina and Anna with the NCAA Doubles Championship coming up, but I think there's a lot to be proud of. I think if we're ready to immediately get back to work. We know we can be better and we know we can get it done. But we have to make the decision that this isn't about us being a top-25 program, it's about us pushing towards single digits and I think it's pretty clear what it's going to take from each and every member of this program to get to that point. I think that's a task that we're extremely hungry to attack.
"At the end of the day, its all very positive heading into the future. We've only seen the beginning of this, not just the past couple of days, but the past two to three years. Go Pack!"
