Frantova, Rogers earn All-ACC Honors

Selection marks the Wolfpack's most honorees in a single season

GREENSBORO, N.C.—For the first time in program history, two from the NC State women's tennis team have been named to the All-ACC team as Martina Frantova and Anna Rogers earned the honors, announced by the league office Thursday morning.
Frantova has been named to the All-ACC Second Team while Rogers has been named to the the All-ACC Third Team.
Frantova, a Bratislava, Slovakia, native, has led the team in singles this season playing at the top position throughout the season, earning a 11-14 (4-10 ACC) record. The senior has been consistently ranked this season on ITA's poll and currently holds the No. 73 rank. This is Frantova's second All-ACC honor, making her one of four players in NC State history to receive multiple honors.
Rogers, who was recently voted the team's MVP, has made an immediate impact on the program in her freshman season. The Stamford, Conn., native is currently second in NC State's record books for dual match singles wins in a season with 18, holding an 18-7 (8-5 ACC) record and has consistently played at the No. 2 singles position this season.
In doubles, the two Wolfpackers have become NC State's most successful tandem, accumulating a 20-1 (12-1 ACC) ledger. Entering the ACC tournament, the duo has won 13 straight matches at the No. 1 position, falling only the top-ranked North Carolina pair of Jessie Aney and Hayley Carter.
Rogers has tallied 22 doubles wins, the most in school history, while Frantova has earned 20 victories to place her second all-time.
Frantova, Rogers and the No. 29 Wolfpack will begin action at the ACC Tournament today in a second-round showdown with Boston College. First serve is set to take at 5 pm.
