Wolfpack ties second-highest seed in program history

GREENSBORO—The No. 28 NC State women's tennis team will enter the ACC Championship Tournament as the fifth seed, as announced by the league offices. The seed stands as the program's best conference finish in 18 years and ties its second-highest in history behind its third place finish in 1998.
The tournament is set to begin Wednesday, April 26 at Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Georgia.
NC State, who concluded its season Sunday with a win over Louisville by a final score of 5-2, accumulated an 18-9 (7-7 ACC) record this season, which marks the most regular season wins in history. The team also tallied its most victoreis over ACC opponents this season.

The team will kick off action at the ACC Tournament on Thursday at 1 p.m. and will play the winner of No. 12 seed Boston College versus No. 13 seed Virginia Tech.
The team has been consistently ranked among the Oracle/ITA poll this season, peaking at No. 16, the team's highest rank ever. In singles, senior Martina Frantova is currently ranked No. 73 in the poll and the Wolfpack's top doubles team of Frantova and Anna Rogers will enter the tournament as the No. 13 duo in the country, having won its last 14 matches.
Last season, the team entered the ACC tournament as the No. 10 seed and earned a trip to the second round of play after dominating Louisville in its opening match. NC State's run ended as it narrowly fell to Syracuse by a score of 4-3 in the second round.
