Women's Tennis Rises in Team Poll

TEMPE, Ariz.– The NC State women's tennis team has landed at No. 31 in the latest Oracle/ITA team poll, as announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon. The Wolfpack has a current season record of 10-6 (0-4 ACC), with one singles player and one doubles tandem currently ranked.

The jump is a four-spot improvement from the March 7 poll, where the Wolfpack came in at No. 35. Since then, the team has won both its matches, taking down Michigan State at home and most recently beating Utah on the road. The team rolled passed the Spartans by a final score of 6-1 while the win over the Utes was hard-fought, 4-3.
Senior Martina Frantova is currently No. 34 on the singles poll and holds a 8-6 (0-4 ACC) record. In doubles play, Frantova and freshman Anna Rogers earned the No. 30 rank. The duo won its 10th match last night versus Utah and own a season record of 10-1 (3-1 ACC).
NC State has three matches scheduled for this weekend. The Pack will travel to Charlottesville, Va., on Friday to take on Virginia at home at 3:30 p.m., then return to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center for a doubleheader Sunday. Boston College and NC State will face off at noon, followed by a 5 p.m. start time for the team's match against Winthrop.
