Quoting the Coaches
Swimming
"NC State concluded the Ohio State Invitational on some positive notes," said head coach Braden Holloway. "We finished up on a good note; finished the meet strong which is what we wanted to see. Hats off to our milers today who got the session started on a really big note. Our women group of milers had the best group of miles we've had in a fall invite pretty much since we've been here. Hannah Moore led the charge, dipping under 16 minutes; both Tamila Holub and Anna Jahns swimming times that would have qualified for NCAA's last year. Hopefully those times will hold up this year before we head into February and March. It was a great start to our evening session. Jack became the third guy to break the 15-minute mark in program history
Â
The men followed up with some really great miles and it just shows our depth in distance. Coach Gary Taylor's done an outstanding job with that group; we had a lot of guys in the top six and eight in the mile at today's meet. Jack became the third guy to break the 15 minutes in program history and Anton posted a nation-leading time, which was great to see.
Â
Our backstrokers did well and our ladies followed it up with some good 200 backstroke times; Elise had a very busy weekend and she did very well, as did Kathleen Moore. Our guys were outstanding in the backstroke, it was great to see Hennessey pop a great time, his fastest of the season and a time that made NCAA's last season. Coleman Stewart hit a best time, a time that made NCAA's last year; we'll see what those are in a few weeks heading into the second part of the season.
Â
Jacob Johnson had a big day for us and is continuing to get better on this team. With our breaststrokes, our freshmen are learning and our women are learning. Some of the girls had their best times today; Julia Poole continued to lead that group in the breaststroke and IM, she had a phenomenal weekend. Daniel Graber, a big, up-and-coming junior on our team had a great weekend in the breaststroke and we're really excited about his progression. You can't say enough about Andreas Vazaios; huge day for us, huge weekend for us and a nation-leading butterfly time that really puts him in a good position leading into his European Championships coming up in December.
Â
The women finished strong in relays; we would have liked to have been a little big quicker in that relay but we weren't able to finish up. Walking away with a good team race with Kentucky, Notre Dame and Ohio State was just a great experience for then. The guys finished the weekend with some great relays, not just our 'A' relay but our 'B' relay as well. We have some guys who are trying to vie from some relay times at the end of the year and I think that created some heat going into that last relay some excitement, so finishing on a great note. Hats off to our team and their performances, hats off to our coaching staff who continue to work with our team to get better. We're going to head back and get ready for Thanksgiving break and exams coming up as well as getting back to work."

Diving
"We had a good day," said diving coach Yahya Radman. "Madeline listened to her training and showed what she is capable of doing. Stu was Mr. Consistently Steady. When he honed his focus, you can have a very good performance. James surprised himself with a few skills that he didn't know how to handle. He jumps higher and spins faster than he is used to and that is exciting news. Overall happy with where we are and I'm looking forward to our next phase leading up to January."
Wolfpack Relays
NC State again showed its depth in the relays with the Wolfpack taking both first and second in the men's 400 freestyle relay. Justin Ress, Ryan Held, Jacob Molacek and Andreas Vazaios took first and earned an NCAA 'A' cut as they finished in 2:48.75 seconds, the fastest current time in the country. Coleman Stewart, Daniel Forndal, Mark McGlaughlin and Tyler finished second in 2:53.99 seconds.
Â
In the women's 400 freestyle relay Elise Haan, Krista Duffield, Vasiliki Baka and Ky-lee Perry  narrowly finished second in 3:17.27 seconds; winners Notre Dame finished in 3:16.50 seconds.

NC State's men dominated the 100 freestyle; Ryan Held, Justin Ress and Jacob Molacek finished first, second and third in 42.45, 42.51 and 42.71 with all times being NCAA 'B' cuts.
