Moore Takes Sixth In 800 Free Finals At Olympic Trials

Rising junior posts personal-best time
OMAHA, Neb.- Rising junior Hannah Moore of the NC State swimming and diving team highlighted the program's final day of competition at the 2016 United States Swimming Olympic Trials with a sixth-place finish in the women's 800 freestyle championship final.
Held inside the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb., Moore finished 10th in the prelims on Friday with a time of 8:34.14. Two swimmers scratched in the event to allow her to compete in the championship final, as she managed to finish sixth overall with a personal-best mark of 8:31.01.
Wolfpack alum Cullen Jones also had a strong showing in the men's 50 free after touching the wall at 21.75 to finish third in the event standings.Â
Adam Linker additionally posted a personal-best mark in the men's 1,500 free prelims, as he stopped the clock at 15:17.75 to take 10th overall.Â
NC State leaves the Olympics Trials with one Olympian, while advancing five swimmers to a championship final and nine to a semifinal. The program will return to Raleigh to prepare for its 2016-17 NCAA season.
