
Women’s Swimming and Diving Lands Five On All-ACC Academic Team

Labonge and Zevnik earn their third honor in as many years
GREENSBORO, N.C.- Courtney Caldwell, Shelly Craddock, Natalie Labonge, Rachel Muller and Alexia Zevnik of the NC State swimming and diving team have been named to the 2015-16 Women's All-ACC Academic Team, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
For juniors Labonge and Zevnik, this marks their third honor in as many years. For Caldwell, a freshman from Lawrence, Kan., Craddock, a senior transfer from Western Kentucky and Muller, a junior from Snellville, Ga., this is the first honor of their careers.
In her first year with the Wolfpack, Caldwell played a vital role in the women's 400 freestyle relay, helping the squad clinch a gold medal at the ACC Championship and a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championship to earn first team All-America honors.
Labonge and Zevnik were also a part of the 400 free relay squad at ACCs and NCAAs, as the conference title marked the program's second-straight victory in the event.
At NCAAs Labonge helped all five relays earn All-America honors and finished 16th in the 100 butterfly. She also was a member of the 200 free relay that earned NC State's fourth-straight title in the event at the ACC Championship.
Zevnik earned runner-up finishes at ACCs in the 100 and 200 backstroke and 200 individual medley at ACCs, and tabbed top-eight finishes in both backstroke events at NCAAs.
For Craddock, this was the final season of her career and first at NC State. In just one year she etched her name in the record books in the 200, 500 and 1,650 freestyle, holding the No. 3 program time in each event. She additionally helped the 800 freestyle relay place second at ACCs and finish 12th at NCAAs to tab second team All-America honors.
Muller and Zevnik were also members of the 800 free relay squad at the conference and national championships, as Muller earned All-America honors in the 200, 500 and 1,650 free at NCAAs and a third-place finish in the 1,650 at ACCs.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
