NSCAA Release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The NC State women's soccer coaching staff has been recognized by the NSCAA as the Southeast Staff of the Year. Head coach Tim Santoro, associate head coach Mike Barroqueiro and assistant coach Tom Anagnost have produced one of the best turnarounds in the country by leading the Pack on an NCAA run to the Sweet 16.
Â
The staff led the team to its most wins in a single season in 21 years, ended a 20-year NCAA Championship appearance drought and set the second-best ACC season in school history.
Â
Additionally, the team won or tied matches against seven opponents – including results against two top-10 teams on the road. The team also advanced into the third round of the NCAA Championship for the fourth time in program history and the first time since the 1995 team made a run to the Elite 8.
Â
The staff will be honored at the College Coaches Awards Reception, presented by Surf Cup Sports, on January 12, 2017 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles in conjunction with the 2017 NSCAA Convention.
Â
In addition, the eight NSCAA Regional Staff of the Year recipients in each NCAA Division will be placed on the ballot for NSCAA National Staff of the Year consideration within their respective NCAA Division. The ballot will also include the addition of coaching staffs from any schools which advance to the semifinals of their NCAA Championship.
