Hartl Signs NLI To Join Women’s Golf For 2017-18 Season

Hartl to arrive in Raleigh in fall of 2017
RALEIGH- The NC State women's golf team has picked up one student-athlete in the early signing period by signing Monika Hartl, as announced by head coach Page Marsh.
Hartl, a native of Bamberg, Germany, will join the program for the 2017-18 season.
"We're excited to have Monika join the Wolfpack women's golf family. She has a great passion for the game along with a wonderful respect for the opportunity to be a student athlete. I'm looking forward to supporting and sharing her dreams with her and her family," said Marsh.
For the last four years she has been a member of the Bavarian Team and has recently been named to Germany's national team. She additionally plays for GC am Reichswald, a competitive club team in Germany.
In the German golf junior rankings she is listed at ninth and is No. 146 in the European golf rankings.
Hartl has had a strong 2016 season on the course, as she finished seventh at the German International Ladies Amateur Championship, eighth at the Swiss International Ladies and Czech International Junior Amateur Championships and 25th at the Girls British Open. Her career-low score of 69 (-3) came at the German International Ladies Am.
She additionally placed fourth at the 2015 German Girls Championship Under 16 and won the European Junior open in 2014.
"Since I was little and started to play golf, my dream was to study at a college in the U.S. and be part of a golf team," said Hartl. "I'm really happy to have this chance to play for a wonderful team at a very high level, and have magnificent practice facilities and a great team I can practice with.
"I can't describe the feelings I had when I was on campus. It felt like the right place to be and I'm excited that I'll be part of this incredible Wolfpack family soon. I'm really looking forward to being there and enjoying four fantastic years with the team, coaches and all the great people on campus."
