CARY, N.C. – The NC State men's tennis team opened action at the ITA Carolina Regional and posted eight overall wins in the first two singles rounds. Alexis Galarneau and Igor Saveljic advanced to the round of 32 in the main draw after winning both of their opening matches.

Highlights:
Galarneau earned the first win of his Wolfpack career with a first-round victory over UNCA's Henry Patten. The two had a tight match, as Galarneau earned the victory in three sets, winning 6-2, 6-7(5), 6-4. The Canadian extended his tournament with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Winthrop's Ruy Teixeira.

Igor defeated Appalachian State's Jack Maddocks, 6-2, 6-4 in his opening match. He then knocked out Coastal Carolina's Sebastian Schneider, 7-5, 7-5 to move into the round of 32.

Nick Horton advanced to the round of 64 with a 6-2, 7-6(6) victory over Clemson's Daffra Sanon.

The Ivan and Sean Burnette both picked up main-draw wins in the opening round. Ivan defeated NC Central's Davide Callegari 7-5, 6-2. Burnette took down Campbell's Gerard Sola 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Georgiy Malyshev and Chris Mikrovas stayed alive in the consolation draw with victories. Malyshev took down Wofford's Parks Schoen in straight sets and Mikrovas defeated Presbyterian's Ben Kelley.
