RALEIGH, N.C. - Wolfpack graduate student Joe Thuney has been named the ACC's Offensive Lineman of the Week after helping pave the way for the Wolfpack to gain 586 total yards - the ninth highest mark in school history - in the 63-13 win at South Alabama.
Thuney, who started at left tackle in the contest, graded out at 92 percent in the game for his 47 snaps. He did not have a missed assignment or allow a sack. The Wolfpack rushed for 330 yards and a school-record seven touchdowns.
Last week, the Centerville, Ohio, native was named a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation's William Campbell Trophy, which is given annual to the top football scholar-athlete in the nation.
The Wolfpack returns to Carter-Finley this weekend and starts ACC play, hosting Louisville on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
