#PackCamp Day 2: One More

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Wolfpack was back at it this morning for a two+ hour workout in helmets and shorts. Head Coach Dave Doeren was pleased with his team's progress from day one to day two.
Â
"Much better," he said. "I think the guys cleaned some things up. It was really intense. We had good passion but it was clean. I saw some progress and that's the biggest thing. We want to take a mistake off the field from the day before and move on with what we need to do."
Â
One of the themes of fall camp this season is "one more" – a continuation of the "Raise the Bar" motto the team has embraced since winter workouts began in January.Â
Â
"104 guys are here right now and if all 104 guys do one thing better each day, just how incrementally faster will our team will improve?" Doeren asked. "We have 29 practices so we're trying to get 29% better as a football team. Each of us has one more thing he wants to do each day.
Â
"If we're good at something, we want to be great at it. We want to continue to use our strengths and find a way to make our weaknesses stronger."Â
Â
NOTES ON DAY 2
Top Wolves: Doeren singled out the efforts of wide receiver Gavin Locklear and cornerback Jack Tocho to the team following practice. Locklear put together a consistent practice and made some nice catches, while Tocho had an interception and stood out on defense.
Â
Quickness: Doeren also praised his offensive line after practice for getting to the line of scrimmage fast today. "I know it's hard on you big guys, but it's hard on the defense too when you guys get to the line that fast."
Â
Getting Closer: The team worked out in helmets and shorts again today, but will put on shoulder pads for tomorrow morning's practice. Although they still will be in "THUD" mode (not tackling to the ground), Doeren says donning the shoulder pads brings them closer to "real football."Â
Â
"The contact, the blocking, the straining, the moving people off the line of scrimmage, running through contact … all of those things start tomorrow," he continued.
Â
The Schedule: Following practice and cold tub time, the team has lunch and then a couple of hours of recovery time before going into offensive and defensive meetings. During camp, their day usually ends around 10 p.m.
