Gwiazdowski Wins First International Tournament

MADRID, SPAIN - Two-time NCAA defending champion Nick Gwiazdowski claimed top honors for the first at an international tournament, as he won the 125 kg weight class at the Spanish Grand Prix Saturday night in Madrid, Spain.
In the championship bout, Gwiazdowski made a furious comeback to bring the U.S. another Gold. Trailing 8-0 against China in the finals, Gwiazdowski eventually tied up the score at 8-8 before recording the decisive pin fall with just 38 seconds left.
Gwiazdowski earned a berth in the finals with a 14-4 win over Iran in the semifinals and a quick 10-0 tech over Poland in the quarterfinals.
