NC State and Michigan have split six previous all-time meetings in the series, which dates back to 1949.
Michigan posted a 16-16 record (8-10 Big Ten) last season and returns each of its top six scorers, led by Caris Levert (14.9 ppg), Zak Irvin (14.3 ppg) and Derrick Walton, Jr. (10.7 ppg).
All 14 games of the Challenge will be televised on an ESPN network and will be available via WatchESPN.
NC State (22-14 last season) is one of 13 team in the Challenge that played in the 2015 NCAA Tournament. The Wolfpack will return three starters and several key reserves from last season's squad that advanced to the Sweet 16.
