After its Sweet 16 run, the NC State men's basketball team finished the season ranked in the USA Today coaches poll. The Wolfpack checked in at No. 24 in the season-ending poll.
NC State (22-14) had 88 points in the final poll. National champion Duke was voted as the final No. 1, followed by Wisconsin and Kentucky. Other Wolfpack opponents in the final coaches poll were Notre Dame (No. 5), Virginia (No. 8), Villanova (No. 9), Louisville (No. 10), UNC-Chapel Hill (No. 12) and West Virginia (No. 18).
In addition to its season-ending ranking, NC State has been listed as a potential national contender for the 2015-16 season by CBS Sports, ESPN, The Sporting News and other various national blogs.
The Wolfpack, which has played in the NCAA Tournament in each of the last four years, will return four starters from a team that defeated Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, Louisville and won two games in Pittsburgh to advance to the Sweet 16. NC State, which played the nation's sixth-toughest schedule this season, will once again play a challenging slate next season. Home opponents for the 2015-16 season include Duke, Louisville and UNC-Chapel Hill.
