Taylor Leads Wolfpack In First Day Of Bryan National

GREENSBORO - Rachael Taylor shot a 2-over 74 to lead the NC State women's golf team in the first round of the Bryan National Collegiate on Friday.
Taylor, tied for 10th overall in the 96-player field, carded three birdies and was 1-under on the front nine.
"Yes, Rachael played very steady and had two good birdies on the last four," head coach Page Marsh said. Taylor added: "Windy conditions today, but we handled ourselves well. We're ready and prepared for the weekend. Better never quits."
Lindsay McGetrick (+5) followed with a first-round score of 77. She is tied for 31st. Cecily Overbey (+7) shot 79 and Vivian Tsui (+8) shot 80. Crystal Huang rounded out the lineup with an 86.
The Pack is 12th in the team standings, but just five shots out of ninth place. Virginia is leading the tournament by one shot over Wake Forest.
The Wolfpack will be in action in the second round Saturday morning, teeing off at 8:20 a.m.
