RALEIGH, N.C. - The 15th-ranked NC State rifle team will head to Oxford, Miss., this weekend to compete in the 2015 Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) championships, hosted by Ole Miss.
"Having a good showing at the GARC Championships has been one of our focal points throughout the season," said head coach Keith Miller. "We had a good week of preparation and we're hoping to fire a good score at the event.
The Rebels are the host for the 11th consecutive year, with action taking place at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center.
Joining the Wolfpack (21-7, 18-0 SEARC, 2-6 GARC) at the match will be other conference opponents, Akron, Army, Kentucky, Memphis, Navy, Nebraska, Ole Miss and West Virginia.
This season the GARC has proved to be one of the best conferences in the country, as all league foes are currently ranked in the top 20, including the top-ranked and defending national champion West Virginia Mountaineers.
Last season, the Pack fired a 4606 as a team to finish eighth overall at the championships. The Mountaineers won the 2014 event with a score of 4700.
