Rifle Completes Action at NCAA Qualifier Match

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The 15th-ranked NC State rifle team competed in the NRA Sectional/NCAA Qualifier Match held at the Inuoye Marksmanship Center on The Citadel’s campus. The Wolfpack struggled at the event, posting a team score of 4579.
State fired a total of 2262 in smallbore and 2317 in air rifle to compile the overall score of 4579.
Miller’s Minute
“We had a pretty tough day,” said head coach Keith Miller. “Our score was below our expectations for the match, so we’re disappointed. We'll need to regroup and refocus for next week's GARC Championships at Ole Miss. Putting up a good showing there is one of our major goals, so we plan to get in as much quality training as possible in the short week between now and then.”
Match Notes
- Freshman Derya Pekari posted a personal-best score of 570 in smallbore, while classmate Caitlyn Ford notched a career best in air rifle with a score of 567.
- Lee Price, a redshirt junior, recorded a personal best in smallbore with a score of 558 and aggregate total with an 1125 clip.
