RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State wrestling team re-entered the top-25 for the first time since Jan. 6, primarily on the strength of a 21-15 road win at then-No. 17 Old Dominion on Friday. The Wolfpack (14-5) is ranked No. 25 in this week’s USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll.
NC State closes out its regular season with its last five duals all against ranked opponents. The Pack started its stretch last weekend, pulling off a 21-15 upset at then-#17 Old Dominion on Friday then falling at #9 Virginia Tech 29-9 on Sunday. After the dual against #14 Pittsburgh, the Pack travels to #13 Virginia (Feb. 19) and hosts #7 Oklahoma State (Feb. 22).
The second Division I Wrestling Coaches’ Panel Rankings are expected to be released later this week as well.
The NC State gymnastics and wrestling teams will hold its second Beauty and the Beast event Saturday, Feb. 14 inside Reynolds Coliseum. The Pack wrestling team will face ACC foe #14 Pittsburgh. The event will have a start time of 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be $5 for adults and free for 17 and under and NC State students. GoPack All-Access will offer a separate live stream of both events if you are unable to make it to Reynolds Coliseum.
