Perfect Game named NC State's Andrew Knizner the preseason first teamer at third base on Friday, according to a release from the web site. Knizner represents one of three sophomores named to the team. For the third consecutive year, NC State has placed one or more players on the Perfect Game First Team All-America.
Starting all 52 games he played as a freshman, Knizner tallied a .330 batting average, good for second on last year's squad and tops among returners for 2015, with 11 doubles and 47 RBIs.
Knizner finished the year an All-ACC third teamer, an NCBWA Freshman All-America first teamer, and landed on the ACC All-Academic list, one of 14 ACC players to earn an academic recognition after named to the All-ACC team that year.
