Wrestling Heads to UNC for Sunday Afternoon Dual

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State wrestling team returns to ACC action this weekend, as the Wolfpack makes the quick drive over to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina on Sunday at 1 p.m. The dual will be held on UNC's campus at the Eddie Smith Field House, but there will no live video.
In this week's USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll, NC State and North Carolina were the first two teams just outside the top-25.
Versus UNC: NC State and North Carolina will be facing each other in a dual for the 96th time since the start of ACC competition. The Tar Heels currently lead the overall series, 51-42-2.
Last year, the Pack downed the Tar Heels in Reynolds Coliseum, 19-16. Both teams won five bouts, with NC State getting bonus point victories at 174 (Pete Renda, 12-3 major decision) and 285 (Nick Gwiazdowski, pin at 1:03) and an upset win at 133 (Chris Wilkes, 7-2 decision) that clinched the match for the Pack.
New School Record: Coming via pinfall in his bout against Kent State, heavyweight Nick Gwiazdowski set a new school record with his 42nd straight victory at NC State. last weekend He won his final 20 bouts last season enroute to the NCAA title, and is a perfect 22-0 so far this season.
Up Next: The Pack will continue its three-match road trip next weekend. NC State will be at No. 19 Old Dominion on Friday at 7:30 p.m., then travel to ACC foe No. 9 Virginia Tech for a Sunday dual at 2 p.m.
