NC State baseball's Andrew Knizner, Eric Peterson, and D.J. Thomas earned All-ACC Academic honors, announced Thursday by Commissioner John Swofford.
Knizner, and Industrial Engineering major, represents one of 14 players who earned academic recognition after being named to All-ACC. Knizner landed on the All-ACC third team, and captured freshman All-America honors, before nabbing his first All-ACC Academic mention.
D.J. Thomas makes his second career All-ACC Academic appearance, after being a mainstay on the ACC's Academic Honor Roll throughout his four-year career in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management.
Eric Peterson, a Sport Management major, claimed an All-ACC Academic honor in his first year after transferring to NC State from Temple. Peterson has since moved on to professional baseball after being a draft choice of the Houston Astros.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
