Wrestling Recruiting Class Ranked for Second Straight Year

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State wrestling coach Pat Popolizio and his staff were known as stout recruiters before they stepped onto campus last winter, and many publications are taking note of their efforts on the recruiting trail. For the second straight year, NC State’s recruiting class is ranked among the top classes nationally.
Three publications have set their rankings for the 2014 signees, and NC State appears in the top 25 for each. The Pack’s 14-man recruiting class is ranked No. 19 by FloWrestling, No. 20 by TheOpenMat.com, and No. 25 by InterMat. More recruiting rankings will be released later this spring.
Last year, Poploizio and staff’s first recruiting class at NC State was ranked fourth nationally by D1collegewrestling.net, No. 10 by both WIN Magazine and InterMat, No. 13 by the Open Mat/AWN and No. 14 by FloWrestling.
