Macchiavello, Renda Named to All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - NC State freshmen wrestlers Michael Macchiavello and Pete Renda were named to the 2014 All-ACC Academic Team, as announced today by Commissioner John Swofford.
Machiavello and Renda, both currently enrolled in NC State’s First Year College program, were starters this past season for the Wolfpack. Renda was an NCAA Qualifier at 174 pounds and finished 27-11 on the season. His 27 wins rank as the third-most for a freshman in school history, and he was 12-1 in bonus point matches this past year. Machiavello finished his rookie campaign as the Pack’s starter at 184 pounds, finishing 11-14 on the season.
To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a minimum 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a minimum 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
