A joyous celebration on Selection Sunday was followed by a very busy Monday as the Wolfpack men's basketball team preps for its game in the NCAA Tournament.
Less than 14 hours after learning it would play Xavier in Tuesday's NCAA Tournament First Round, the Wolfpack postseason travel party flew to Dayton, Ohio, landing around 11 a.m. The team held a private practice in the gym of nearby Sinclair Community College then had a few hours of rest before heading to the arena.
Each of the four teams playing Tuesday night had media availability and an open practice available to the public to build the excitement of the Big Dance.
NC State (21-13) and Xavier (21-12) will square off in what Mark Gottfried calls "the greatest show on Earth" Tuesday, March 18 at 9:10 p.m. The winner of NC State-Xavier will leave immediately for Orlando, Fla., to take on No. 5 seed Saint Louis Thursday, March 20 at 7:20 p.m.
