#19 Wrestling Hosts Appalachian State Thursday Night

RALEIGH, N.C. - The 19th-ranked NC State wrestling team will return to home action Thursday night, as the Wolfpack will host Appalachian State at 7 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum. Admission is FREE for all fans, and the match will also be streamed live on GoPack.com All-Access.
NC State is ranked #19 by FloWrestling and #22 in the USA Today/NWCA Division I Coaches Poll this week, the Pack's fourth straight week being ranked. A trio of Pack wrestlers are among the top-20 according to FloWrestling: #16 Sam Speno (5-5) at 141 pounds, #15 Max Rohskopf (16-5) at 165 pounds, and #2 Nick Gwiazdowski (15-0) at 285 pounds. Gwiazdowski was just shared ACC Wrestler of the Week honors.
Appalachian State is 2-5 on the year, and features a pair of ranked grapplers: #11 Dylan Cottrell (12-2) at 149 pounds and #19 Denzel Dejournette (17-0) at 285 pounds.
The Pack last competed Dec. 5-6 at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas. In the prestigious tournament, the Pack placed ninth and had a trio of wrestlers earn a spot on the awards podium. In dual action this year, NC State is off to a 6-2 start, with the only losses coming to top-10 schools.
Last year, the Pack won at Appalachian State 28-6 in a mid-December dual.
