@PackFootball Holds 2014 Awards Banquet

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Wolfpack football team held its annual awards banquet on Sunday at the Talley Student Union, and more than 400 guests were on hand to honors the bowl-bound squad's accomplishments.
Junior quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who posted some of the top marks in school history in several passing categories and has been among the national leaders throughout the season, earned the afternoon's top award - the Governor's Award which is given to the team's Most Valuable Player.
NC State legend Torry Holt was on hand to give out the eponymous award for the Pack's most valuable offensive back. This award went to sophomore running back Matt Dayes, who has been a versatile weapon on offense this season, ranking third on the team in rushing and second in receiving, while also racking up some kickoff return yards. He ranks sixth in the ACC in touchdown scoring with six rushing TDs and five receiving scores.
The Mario Williams Award for defensive MVP went to senior defensive tackle Thomas Teal. Teal was like a freight train in the middle for the Wolfpack defense this season, getting stronger and stronger as the season went on. An honorable mention All-ACC performer, he made eight stops behind the line of scrimmage and led all defensive linemen in tackles.
Freshmen linemen Tony Adams on offense and B.J. Hill on defense won the Philip Rivers Award for top freshmen, while record-setting punter Wil Baumann was named the Special Teams Player of the Year.
