RALEIGH, N.C.- The NC State men's basketball team outscored Queens University 48-19 in the second half to roll to a 78-47 win on Saturday. State forced 30 Queens' turnovers while gathering 12 blocks.
Turning Point: NC State opened the 2nd half with a 20-0 run over a span of 7:37 to take a 22-point lead.
Gott Said It: "Well I thought for an exhibition game, especially the first half, it was a good challenge for our guys. I thought our bench gave us a great spark in the first half. I thought they got things going for us, especially Desmond Lee defensively. Caleb Martin and Malik (Abu) both came in the game and gave us a great offensive spark because we were struggling. I thought the second half we were a lot quicker - we got in the passing lanes, we defended them pretty well and we turned those a lot of those opportunities into fast breaks and we were able to open the game up. It was a good game for our team; we have a lot of young guys. We turned the lights on and put people in the stands. We started the game off and it somewhat seemed like we had some jitters, but hopefully we get that out of the way and get ready for next Friday night."
