Wolfpack Rifle Readies for Competition at The Citadel

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State rifle team will travel to Charleston, S.C., this weekend for a pair of matches at the Inuoye Marksmanship Center on The Citadel’s campus. The 17th-ranked Wolfpack will take on No. 8 Air Force and No. 12 Navy on Saturday with action slated to begin at 8 a.m.
In its last outing of the season, the Pack (7-3, 0-3 GARC) was outdone by No. 2 Kentucky in a match that was held in Lexington, Va. Sophomore Lucas Kozeniesky fired a season-high score of 580 in the smallbore discipline to claim a share of first place.
The Air Force Falcons enter the weekend with a 5-0 record on the season, following a first-place finish in the last action for the team at the President’s Trophy Match. Air Force defeated Army, Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard at the event with a total team score of 4650.
Navy, also a member of the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) with NC State, owns a 1-5 mark in 2014-15 with an 0-4 record in conference action. The Midshipmen finished third at the President’s Trophy Match in its last outing with a score 4621.
