WILMINGTON, N.C. - The nationally-ranked NC State women's golf team will compete in the Landfall Tradition Oct. 24-26 at the Pete Dye Course Country Club of Landfall. The Wolfpack is one of 10 of the nation's top 25 teams playing in the tournament.
NC State, ranked 14th by Golfweek and 16th by Golfstat, returns to the course after a third-place showing at the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill on Oct. 12. The Pack will field a lineup of Rachael Taylor, Lindsay McGetrick, Augusta James, Vivian Tsui and Crystal Huang. Taylor had her best outing as a collegiate player at the Tar Heel tournament, placing fifth and shooting 1-under. James, a three-time All-ACC player, leads the Wolfpack with a 71.83 scoring average and has three rounds under par this season.
The Landfall Tradition, now in its 13th year, has become one of the nation's most prestigious collegiate women's events. More than 1,200 players from 62 institutions have competed in the tournament, which annually attracts the top teams in women's college golf.
This weekend is the third and final event for Page Marsh's squad this fall. The team will resume competition in the spring season Feb. 15-17 when it travels to Puerto Rico for the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.
