Raleigh, N.C. – In week 7 of the NFL season, former Wolfpack players put up some impressive numbers to help lead their teams to victory.
David Amerson returned after missing last week’s game with a concussion and had two tackles in the Redskins 19-17 win against the Tennessee Titans.
Jerricho Cotchery had three catches for 21 yards in the Panthers loss 38-17 loss at the Packers.
Steven Hauschka was perfect again on the day making both field goal attempts and connecting on two extra points. However, his perfection was not enough in the Seahawks 28-26 loss at the Rams.
Nate Irving had two tackles and helped the Denver defense hold the 49ers high powered offense to only 17 points on the night. The Broncos won the game with a final score of 42-17.
Dontae Johnson accounted for two tackles in the 49ers 42-17 loss at the Denver Broncos.
Markus Kuhn made one tackle in the Giants game against their division foe Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys went on to win the game 31-21.
Manny Lawson had two tackles in the Bills heart-pounding 17-16 win over the Vikings.
Philip Rivers had another stellar day for San Diego, throwing 17 completions for 205 yards and two touchdowns. But unfortunately it was not enough for the Chargers in their 23-20 loss to division rival Kansas City Chiefs.
Mario Williams had one tackle and 1.0 sack in the Bills last second 17-16 victory over the Vikings. Williams has 5.5 sacks on the season making him one of two former Pack players to be in the top-10 in the NFL in total sacks this season.
Russell Wilson made history on Sunday to be the first player in NFL history to pass for over 300 yards and rush for over 100 yards in the same game. Wilson threw 23 completions for 313 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 107 yards, another score. Wilson’s record setting heroics were not enough though in the Seahawks 28-26 loss to their division rival Rams.
Willie Young disrupted the Dolphins in the passing game and made five tackles on the day, but it was not enough in the Bears 27-14 loss to the Dolphins. Young is one of two former pack players in the top-10 in the NFL in sacks with 7.0 on the season, making him tied for second in the NFL.
