Grinnage Named to Mackey Award Midseason Watch List

RALEIGH, N.C. - Redshirt sophomore David J. Grinnage has been named to the 2014 John Mackey Award midseason watch list. Given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end, the award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee and the 2014 John Mackey recipient will be announced on December 10, 2014 and then presented live on December 11, 2014 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on ESPNU.
Grinnage currently ranks fourth on the Pack in receiving, having caught 14 passes for 200 yards (third-best in yardage). This past weekend against Boston College, he caught his first TD pass of the season and second of his career. Grinnage has started six of the first seven games at tight end for the Pack this season and 13 of his 19 career games.

NFL Hall of Fame member John Mackey is considered to be the best to have played the tight end position.
