
James, Marchand Leads Wolfpack To Fifth Place Finish In Tennessee

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Augusta James and Brittany Marchand registered top-5 finishes to lead the NC State women's golf team at the Mason Rudolph Invitational in Tennessee this weekend. The Wolfpack finished fifth in the team standings in a tournament featuring 11 nationally-ranked teams.
After shooting a 72 on Saturday, James (-3) posted another even par round to finish with a 54-hole score of 213. Marchand (E) carded consecutive rounds of 71 to finish with an even par 216 for the weekend. UCLA's Erynne Lee (-7) was the individual medalist, followed by teammate Alison Lee (-6).
North Carolina State (+16) finished four shots behind host school Vanderbilt and Duke, who were each +12. The Wolfpack did hold off North Carolina by one shot to maintain fifth place. UCLA (-14) won the tournament by 20 shots and tied a tourney record on Sunday with a team round of 277.
Following James and Marchand were Ana Menendez (+6), Vivian Tsui (+13) and Caroline Ellington (+22).
NC State will return to action Oct. 11-13 when it plays in the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill.
