Mason Rudolph 1st Round Results
FRANKLIN, Tenn.
James totaled three birdies, including a two on the par three No. 16 hole, and was even on each of the 15 other holes. She currently stands in third place, just one shot behind Baylor's Hayley Davis and Alabama's Stephanie Meadow.
Ana Menendez fired an even 72, earning a spot tied for 14th. She carded a birdie on the 11th hole and was one under par until a bogey on the 16th. Brittany Marchand (+2), NCSU's leading scorer entering the weekend, is tied for 36th and Vivian Tsui was two shots behind her. Caroline Ellington (+7) rounded out the lineup.
The Pack heads into the tourney's second day just two shots out of second place. After the Sun Devils, UCLA and host school Vanderbilt are both (+1) with team scores of 289. Auburn (+2) stands fourth at 290. The Wolfpack is the leading ACC school in the tournament, four shots ahead of North Carolina and five better than Duke. Wake Forest and Virginia are tied for 12th.
Ellington will tee off first for the Wolfpack Saturday morning, hitting the links at 9:45 a.m. ET.
