Rising junior Vivian Tsui of the NC State women's golf team qualified for the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur this week at the University of Michigan Golf Course in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Tsui fired a 75 on July 8 to tie for the third-lowest round that day in Michigan. This will be the Markham, Ontario, natives first appearance at the annual event that will take place August 5-11 at the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, S.C.
Teammate and fellow Canadian Brittany Marchand is an alternate after attempting to qualify in York, Pa., this week. She fired a 74 at the Country Club of York.
Wolfpack golf fans may remember that U-M Golf Course was the site of Albin Choi's victory at the 2012 NCAA Ann Arbor Regional. He famously made back-to-back eagles on consecutive par-4 holes during the second round on his way to victory.
