NC State-Campbell Begins Long Home Stretch

The third-longest homestand in NC State men's basketball history begins Saturday night when the Wolfpack hosts Campbell at PNC Arena at 7 p.m.
NC State (1-1) will embark on seven straight games at home during a 29-day span. The first six games are at PNC Arena and the seventh in the stretch is a date with Detroit in Reynolds Coliseum. Last year, head coach Mark Gottfried's squad played a school-record long nine consecutive games at home. The 2004-05 Wolfpack had a stretch of eight in a row at home.
NC State is 9-1 all-time against Campbell (2-0), with the last loss coming in 1993. NCSU's average margin of victory over the Camels is 25.9 per game.
NC State is coming off a 68-57 loss at Cincinnati, in a game that was closer than the final score appeared. The game was tied at halftime and the Wolfpack trailed just 58-53 with 3:49 on the clock before a late Cincinnati run. T.J. Warren and Ralston Turner led the Pack with 13 points apiece, and Warren grabbed 10 rebounds.
Campbell is 2-0 after wins over Shenandoah and Appalachian State. The Camels are mentored by first-year coach Kevin McGeehan, who came to CU from the University of Richmond.

1. PACK BOUNCES BACK
In two-plus seasons under Mark Gottfried, the Wolfpack is 14-8 in the games immediately after a loss. NC State was 7-5 after losses in 2011-12, and improved to 7-3 after losses last season. The Wolfpack has only lost consecutive nonconference games eight different times dating back to 1994.
2. COMMON OPPONENT
After just two games this season, NC State and Campbell already have one common opponent - Appalachian State. NC State defeated ASU last Friday 98-77, while Campbell won at App State 73-66 on Tuesday. Here are some key points in both teams' meetings against the Mountaineers:

3. #TONYBUCKETS
Sophomore forward T.J. Warren, a 2013 ACC All-Freshmen Team pick, is one of the nation's most efficient scorers. But he's also picked up his game in other areas. In addition to averaging 20.0 points per game, the 6-8 Warren is leading the team with 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. In the season opener, he shot 13-for-20 from the floor to score 27 points while also pulling down eight boards. At Cincinnati, Warren posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, his third career double-double.
4. THE 11TH MONTH
NC State almost never loses non-conference home games in the month of November. The Wolfpack is 14-2 in such contests dating back to November 2008. Gottfried started 4-1 in November nonleague games at home during his first year at NC State and then went 2-0 last year. NCSU's last nonconference home loss in the opening month of the season came against Indiana (86-75 on Nov. 30, 2011). Overall, NC State is 55-12 (.821) during the month of November since 1999.
5. NONLEAGUE, OUR STATE
Dating back to 2008, NC State is 17-1 against nonleague opponents from North Carolina. That includes NCSU's 87-81 win over Campbell two years ago. The Wolfpack boasts a flawless 11-0 mark under Mark Gottfried against non-conference NC schools.
