Kendall Smith Selected To 2011-12 NABC Honors Court

RALEIGH, N.C. – Kendall Smith, who graduated in May with a degree in biochemistry, recently was selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court. A former walk-on member of the NC State basketball team, Smith posted a 3.35 grade point average during his senior year.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents of the student-athletes off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2011-12 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Institution.
This past season, Smith saw action in six contests, including scoring his first-ever points in ACC play against Wake Forest in his hometown of Winston-Salem. Smith played in 28 career games for the Wolfpack, posting a career-high six points versus Alabama A&M during the 2010-11 season.
