DURHAM, N.C. - NC State’s Carlos Rodon landed on Baseball America’s All-America first team, announced Friday by the organization.
Rodon represents the only freshman on the first team, and one of two freshmen recognized on any of the three teams along with Michael Conforto of Oregon State’s second team mention.
The freshman finished the season with a 9-0 record and a 1.57 ERA, striking out 135 over 114 2/3 innings in 16 starts.
The Holly Springs, N.C. native has been named first team All-America by NCBWA, Louisville Slugger, ABCA, and Baseball America with Friday’s announcement.
NC State has never had a player make All-America first team from four different publications. The last Wolfpacker to make Baseball America’s first team was Tom Sergio in 1997.
