Purvis, U.S. Team Into U18 Championship Gold Medal Game

SAO SEBASTIAO do PARAISO, BRAZIL – Rodney Purvis scored 11 points to help the United States team to the FIBA Americas U18 Championship gold medal game with a 107-72 victory over Argentina on Tuesday. The American squad will square off with Brazil, which the United States defeated, 83-64, on Monday. Brazil defeated Canada, 66-62, to advance to the medal contest.
Purvis was 4-of-7 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. In addition to his scoring output, he had four boards and four assists.
The undefeated United States team is averaging 96.5 points over its four victories, while holding its opposition to an average of 59.3 points per contest.
