RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State sophomores C.J. Leslie and Lorenzo Brown were tabbed as All-ACC selections with Leslie making the conference's second team and Brown receiving a spot on the league's third team.
The All-ACC teams were announced Monday after a vote of 62 members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA).
Leslie is the Wolfpack's leading scorer and is only one of three players to be listed among the ACC scoring and rebounding leaders. He is averaging 14.3 points per game and 7.1 rebounds a contest, which ranks ninth in both categories. Over NC State's last four games, Leslie is averaging 20.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest and recorded three of his six double-doubles this season during that span, including a career-high 24 points against North Carolina on Feb. 21.
Brown is the first NC State guard since Chris Corchiani in 1991 to average better than 4.6 assists per game with 6.3 per contest which ranks second-best the ACC and rates among the national leaders. He also the first player to move into the top 10 on the Pack's single season lists since Corchiani. Brown is five assists from tying Spud Webb (199) for seventh on the Pack's single-season list. Brown also has the fourth best assist-to-turnover ratio in the conference at 1.9. This season, Brown scored his career-best in ACC action of 20 points at UNC (1/29/12) and at Wake Forest (1/14/12).
The Wolfpack opens play on Thursday in the ACC Tournament at 2 p.m., when it faces Boston College, the 12th seed.
