RALEIGH, N.C. - No. 9 NC State hosts Virginia for a three-game set Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Doak Field at Dail Park, with all three games streamed on ESPN3.com.
The Wolfpack (17-6, 6-3 ACC) rebounded from back-to-back losses at UNC with a thrilling midweek win over East Carolina Wednesday night. State's Tarran Senay drove a two-out, walk-off RBI single over the Pirates' right fielder to secure the 4-3 win in the bottom of the 11th.
Virginia (17-8-1, 5-4 ACC) enjoyed a 19-5 trouncing of Towson Wednesday night to enter the series on a six-game win streak that includes a sweep of Clemson in Charlottesville over the weekend.
Ethan Ogburn (2-1, 1.73 ERA) gets the nod as the Pack starter Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Ogburn will face off against 6'6 left-hander Scott Silverstein (2-2, 2.10).
Saturday's 6:30 p.m. game features a matchup between Carlos Rodon (4-0, 1.30) and right-hander Branden Kline (4-2, 3.10). Rodon boasts the ACC's lowest ERA.
In Sunday's 1 p.m. finale, Logan Jernigan (3-1, 4.03) will try to respond after a bumpy outing last Monday, as he battles right-hander Artie Lewicki (1-1, 4.50).
NC State owns a 110-67-1 lead in the all-time series record between the two. Virginia took two of three from State last year, prevailing 3-1 and 7-6 to come back from a 6-2 Wolfpack win in the first game. Over the last 16 meetings, dating back to 2007, State and Virginia are dead even at 8-8 against one another.
All three games will stream live on ESPN3.com. Radio coverage for the weekend will be provided by 88.1 WKNC, fans can follow Twitter updates from @NCStateBaseball, and live stats will be available on GoPack.com.
