State Hits the Road for Baseball at the Beach

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State travels to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to take on George Mason, West Virginia, and Coastal Carolina as part of Baseball at the Beach this weekend.
The Wolfpack (3-1) opens with George Mason (1-2) on Friday at 11 a.m., battles West Virginia (3-1) on Saturday at 3 p.m., and closes with Coastal Carolina (1-2) on Sunday at 3 p.m.
NC State's Friday and Saturday games take place at Coastal Carolina's Watson Stadium/Vrooman Field in Conway, S.C. Sunday's finale will be played at BB&T Coastal Field in Myrtle Beach, home of the minor league Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
Probable starters for this weekend are Anthony Tzamtzis (0-0) on Friday, Logan Jernigan (1-0) on Saturday, and Carlos Rodon (1-0) on Sunday. George Mason will throw A.J. Johnson (0-1, 5.40 ERA), West Virginia plans to start Corey Walter (0-0, 3.86 ERA), and Coastal will pitch left-hander Ben Smith (0-1, 8.10 ERA).
Last season, the Pack went 2-1 at Baseball at the Beach, scoring a win over No. 17 Coastal Carolina in the process.
State leads the all-time series with all three opponents, 22-4 over George Mason, 8-2-1 over West Virginia, and 11-9 against Coastal Carolina. The Wolfpack defeated both George Mason, 9-1, and Coastal Carolina, 12-3, in 2011. The last meeting between West Virginia and NC State came in 2007, a game the Pack won 5-1.
In its last game, State broke open a scoreless game in the bottom eighth on Tuesday, to defeat UNC Wilmington 10-0. None of the Pack's three opponents played midweek games this week.
