Rifle Places Second at Ole Miss

OXFORD, MISS. -- The No. 16 NC State rifle team competed in its first match of 2012 on Sunday, against Ole Miss and The Citadel. The Wolfpack came away with a second place finish, topping The Citadel Men and The Citadel Women, but falling to No. 6 Ole Miss.
NC State finished with a combined score of 4510. Dani Foster led the team in smallbore, placing seventh in the event with a 566. Madeline Pike also turned in a top-10 finish, coming in 10th with a score of 557.
Bryan Cross fired the top score for the Pack in air rifle with his 578, good for seventh place. Pike and Foster finished eighth and ninth, respectively, both shooting a 576.
NC State will return to action Saturday at the SEARC 5 in Charleston, S.C.
