RALEIGH, N.C. - The Wolfpack looks to improve to 2-0 in ACC play when it entertains Georgia Tech on Wednesday at the RBC Center. Gametime is 9 p.m. Doors open 60 minutes prior tipoff. Wednesday's game can be heard on the NC State Radio Network and will be televised on RSN with Mike Hogewood (play-by-play) and Mike Gminski (color analyst) providing the description of the action. Check your local listings for the channel in your area. Pack fans across the country can see the game via ESPN Full Court package.
Wednesday's game closes out a six-contest homestand for the Pack during which NC State has assembled a six-game winning streak. A victory over the Yellow Jackets would tie State's longest winning streak since the 2007-08 season.
TRANSITION POINTS
• The Wolfpack leads the all-time series with the Yellow Jackets, 51-36. State is 29-9 all time against Tech at home, including 9-1 at the RBC Center.
• NC State is seeking its second consecutive win over Georgia Tech. The Pack won last year's meeting, 79-74, at the RBC Center.
• NC State `s Mark Gottfried and Georgia Tech's Brian Gregory are both in their first seasons as head coach at their respective schools.
• Gottfried is 1-0 versus Georgia Tech. He collected an 88-77 victory in his meeting with the Yellow Jackets while at Alabama.
• Gottfried was the only one of the four first-year head coaches in the ACC to win his league debut.
• Scott Wood is 37-of-37 from the line this year and has hit a school record 47 straight dating back to last year.
• NC State's offensive production (77.4 ppg) trails only UNC and Duke among ACC teams. It owns the conference's top free throw percentage (.760).
• During its current six-game winning streak, the Pack is shooting 49 percent (172-of-354) from the field, 86 percent (102-of-118) from the line and 39 percent (35-of-91) from 3-point range.
• The Pack is only ACC program with five players listed among league's scoring leaders.
• NC State Basketball is teaming with Ticket To Reading Rewards Program to conduct a book drive prior to the Georgia Tech game.
• The Pack's strength of schedule is 25th according to Collegerpi. com (as of 1/10/12) and its NCAA RPI is 44th.
• C.J. Leslie led NC State to a win in its ACC opener over Maryland, 79-74, on this past Sunday with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
• Gottfried became only the second NC State coach to win his league debut, joining Les Robinson in this exclusive club. Robinson guided the Pack to a 74-70 victory over Clemson in 1991.
• The win over the Terps snapped a nine-game skid dating back to the 2006-07 season.
