RALEIGH, N.C. — NC State’s 13-man baseball recruiting class was named the 14th best class in the nation in Collegiate Baseball’s annual recruiting survey.
The Wolfpack’ class includes three highly regarded draft picks from the 2011 MLB draft — first-round supplemental pick Brett Austin, 16th-rounder Carlos Rodon and 20th-rounder Trea Turner — along with 10 other players, each of whom could push for playing time with the 2012 Pack.
NC State’s class was the second-ranked recruiting class in the Atlantic Coast Conference. South Carolina led the rankings, with Miami the top ACC class at No. 6. Florida State’s class was No. 16, and Virginia’s was 17th.
