Wolfpack men's basketball coach Mark Gottfried will not be able to tandem parachute jump into Carter-Finley Stadium during Military Appreciation Day festivities as planned due to the weather forecasted for the Raleigh area at game time.
The minimum ceiling required for a tandem jump is 6,000 feet and tomorrow evening's forecast is for a 2,300-foot ceiling. The Ranger Parachute team still plans to jump at halftime if the forecast holds true, as the minimum ceiling for solo jumps is 2,000 feet. The team and Gottfried are working to find another date for the tandem jump.
"I'm certainly more disappointed than relieved," laughed Gottfried. "Hopefully we will be able to reschedule for a later date, but I hope that all of our great fans will stay in their seats to cheer on the team as they jump into the stadium tomorrow night."
Kickoff versus South Alabama is scheduled for 6 p.m., and the game can be heard on the Wolfpack-Capitol Sports Network and seen on ESPN3.
