RALEIGH, N.C. -
After earning All-ACC honors the previous two seasons, it should come as no surprise that George Bryan has been named to the 2011 Preseason All-ACC team as announced by the conference office. Votes were collected from the media over the weekend at the ACC Football Kickoff at the Pinehurst Resort.
He received the second most votes among all players on the offensive side with 40.
A redshirt senior, Bryan is only the third tight end in school history to earn first-team all-conference honors, and is the only one to do so twice.
A native of Castle Hayne, N.C., Bryan was also recently named to the 2011 Mackey Watch List. He was a semifinalist for the same award last season.
Last year he caught 35 passes for 369 yards and three scores. He will enter the season with 13 career touchdown catches, tied for ninth in school history and the most among returning players.
