Akinniyi Named to Hampshire Honor Society

RALEIGH, N.C. - Defensive end David Akinniyi was named to the 2011 Hampshire Honor Society today as announced by the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF).
The team is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who maintained a 3.2 GPA or better.
A business major with a concentration in finance, Akinniyi played his final season with the Wolfpack after transferring from Northeastern where he was a two-time Colonial Athletic Association Academic all-conference selection. Last year he started all 13 games and posted 20 tackles, including five for a loss of 31 yards. He collected two team awards, including the Bob Warren Award for integrity and sportsmanship and the Earle Edwards Award for highest GPA by a letterman.
