RALEIGH, N.C. -- American Idol finalist Scotty McCreery of Garner will be at Doak Field at Dail Park on Saturday to throw out the first pitch before NC State's baseball game against Florida State.
McCreery, a 17-year-old junior at Garner High School, advanced to the final round of three on American Idol on Thursday, May 12.
Game time Saturday is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. McCreery's ceremonial first pitch should be sometime between 6:20 and 6:30.
As of 9 p.m. Thursday, about 700 tickets remained for Saturday's game. In anticipation of a sellout, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets for any children (17 and under) in advance to guarantee entrance into the stadium. Tickets are $7. The ticket office at Doak Field at Dail Park will open at 4 p.m. on Saturday, and the gates will open at 4:30. Standing-room-only tickets will be made available for purchase as soon as reserved-seat tickets have sold out.
Fans may purchase general admission tickets for Saturday's game on-line at www.GoPack.com by clicking here.
All fans are urged to arrive early, before 5 p.m., to ensure easy access to parking and access in and around the stadium.
Because of construction of the West Lot parking deck, baseball parking has been limited this season at Doak Field at Dail Park. There is limited parking in the east end of the West Lot along Sullivan Drive. Additional parking is available for all weekend games in the parking lots adjacent to the administration services buildings along Sullivan Drive. All of these lots are on the opposite side of Sullivan Drive from Doak Field at Dail Park.
Media attending for the event will park in the Thurman Drive Lot, which runs along the third-base and left-field line at Doak Field at Dail Park. This lot will be reserved for media. Those planning to park in the Thurman Drive Lot will need to access Thurman Drive from Dan Allen Drive and not from Varsity Drive and Sullivan Drive. For safety reasons, Varsity Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic at 5 p.m. due to the anticipated crowds.
